The Woodbridge Probate District was constituted January 7, 1987 from the New Haven Probate District. The Woodbridge Probate District was absorbed by the the Derby Probate District on January 5, 2011; the enlarged Derby Probate District currently serves the municipalities of Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, and Woodbridge.

The Woodbury Probate District was constituted October 1719 from the Fairfield, Hartford and New Haven Probate Districts. The Woodbury Probate District merged with the Oxford, Roxbury, Southbury, and Washington Probate Districts on January 5, 2011 to create the Region # 22 Probate District, which currently serves the municipalities of Bethlehem, Oxford, Roxbury, Southbury, Washington, Watertown, and Woodbury.

Town established March 1690 as part of Suffolk County, Massachusetts. Annexed to Connecticut 1749.
The Woodstock Probate District was constituted May 30, 1831, from the Pomfret Probate District. The Woodstock Probate District merged on January 5, 2011 with the Ashford, Brooklyn, Eastford (part), Pomfret, Putnam, and Thompson Probate Districts to create the Northeast Probate District, which currently serves the municipalities of Ashford, Brooklyn, Eastford, Pomfret, Putnam, Thompson, and Woodstock.
