    • Helped draft New Jersey plan
    • Great Compromise, also known as Connecticut Compromise
    • Wrote letters in newspapers in support of Connecticut ratifying the Constitution
  • 1789 - 1791 represented Connecticut in first U.S. house of Representatives
  • Served in Connecticut legislature
