Connecticut Library for Accessible Books Overview

The Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CT LAB) is a unit of the Connecticut State Library.  CT LAB provides books in audio and braille formats to Connecticut residents who are unable to read print books. CT LAB serves individuals who meet the eligibility criteria established by the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS).  Current NLS eligibility criteria is as follows: 

  •  Any individual who is blind or has a visual impairment.
  •  Any individual who has a perceptual or reading disability.
  • Any individual who has a physical disability that makes it hard to hold or manipulate a book or to focus or move the eyes as needed to read a print book
