Middletown Library Service Center Collections

The Middletown Library Service Center collections includes books, book discussion sets, kits, and other resources.  Libraries the borrow books from MLSC can loan them to their patrons.  Libraries can use MLSC equipment and kits to support library programming. 

Books

Use Primo, the CT State Library's online catalog, to search for books available from the MLSC. Select "Middletown Library Service Center" from the drop down menu to the right of the catalog's search bar. All book have a 90 day loan period

  • Large Print books 
  • Professional Development Collection 
    • Neal-Schuman "How-To" series for librarians
    • Most ALA Publications
    • All the Wilson Core Collections
    • Other titles relevant to the library profession

Book Discussion Sets

Use the MLSC Equipment catalog to browse for and reserve book discussion sets. All Book Discussion Sets have a 45 day loan period, unless otherwise noted. Most sets have 12 copies of each title.

Kits

Use the MLSC Equipment catalog to browse for and reserve kits. Most kits have a 45 day loan period, unless otherwise noted.

Puppets and Dolls

Use the MLSC Equipment catalog to browse for and reserve puppets and dolls. These items have a 90 day loan period.

The service centers and collections are funded in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Connecticut State Library.
