Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Every year, the deadline to submit the Summer Reading report and to sign up for access to the iRead Resource Guide is the first Friday in October at 4pm.
  2. Access to the iRead Resource Guide can only be granted to Primary Public Libraries. But don't worry, the downloadable guide only cost $15.
  3. The Summer Reading report is now, and has always been optional
  4. Information that is shared in the summer reading report will be entered into a larger report that is submitted to IMLS and added to a statewide Summer Reading fact flyer. See 2023.
  5. The Summer Reading report no long has to be submitted in exchange for access to the iRead resource guide, a library simply has to fill out the iRead Resource Guide one time.
  6. If you are not sure if you downloaded the iRead Resource Guide search your email and trash for the subject line iREAD Promotion Code Receipt  or an email from iread@ila.org.
  7. The CT State Library pays a fee every time the access code is redeemed and are sent a list of libraries and emails that have redeemed the code, please only redeem the iRead access code once per library system (including departments and branches) and save the information in a shared location.
  8. If you are unsure whether you or someone from your library has redeemed the code already or how to access the download, please email iread@ila.org to inquire. 
  9. iRead codes expire June 1, 2024 so the CT State Library can pay the final invoice.
  10. How do I know if someone in my library received access to the iREAD resource guide. Begin by asking others in your library.
