LibriVox offers free audiobooks versions of books that are in the public domain.
National Resources
National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS)
The National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS), Library of Congress, administers a free national library program that provides braille and recorded materials to people who cannot see regular print or handle print materials. NLS is CT LAB's federal partner in providing accessible reading materials to Connecticut residents.
National Federation of the Blind (NFB)
The National Federation of the Blind is the oldest and largest nationwide organization of blind Americans. Founded in 1940 and currently headquartered in Baltimore, the NFB consists of affiliates, chapters, and divisions in all fifty states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico.
Blinded Veterans Association (BVA)
The Blinded Veterans Association serves as ambassadors and mentors for all veterans and their families coping with sight loss.
American Foundation for the Blind (AFB)
Since 1921, the American Foundation for the Blind has been a leader in addressing the most pressing needs of people with visual impairments and their families, breaking down societal barriers, and promoting broad systemic change.

Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB)
The Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind (BESB) is the state's (Connecticut's) leading bureau for the coordination and provision of services to all Connecticut residents who are legally blind or have significant visual impairments.
Connecticut Radio Information System (CRIS Radio)
CRIS Radio makes its programs available to individuals who are unable to read printed materials due to blindness or other disabilities, including visual, learning, physical, emotional or intellectual disabilities.
Connecticut Tech Act Project (CTTAP)
The CT Tech Act Project was established in CT in 1992! Our mission is to increase independence and improve the lives of individuals with disabilities through increased access to Assistive Technology for work, school and community living.
Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
The Eastern Blind Rehabilitation Center, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, offers advanced vision care and blind rehabilitation services to help you live independently. These may include vision-enhancing devices and technology as well as visual skills and related training.
Lions Low Vision Centers
In Connecticut, there are many Lions Low Vision Centers at your disposal, these centers are in partnership with an established health care facility. These centers are staffed with Occupational Therapists (OT) that are specifically trained in helping patients with low vision.
National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut (NFBCT)
The National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut (NFBCT), an affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind, is an organization that believes in the full capacity of blind people, and has the power, influence, diversity and determination to help transform our dreams into reality. Talking Books CT/CVSBH
Talking Books CT/Connecticut Volunteer Services for the Blind and Handicapped, Inc. (CVSBH) is a non-profit 501c3 corporation that works with the Connecticut Library for Accessible Books (CT LAB) to record books, pamphlets, and magazines as digital talking books for those who cannot hold or read printed material.
