Probate Estate Files Directory

The Connecticut State Library holds most pre-1920 probate estate papers. Most have been indexed in the Library's Probate Estate Papers Index. The index cards are arranged chronologically, then alphabetically by individual's last name, then first names. The cards have the individual's name, town of residence, probate district, and list of items contained in the estate packet.

This set of probate estate files were microfilmed by the Utah Genealogical Society from 1990-94, and are now available online through FamilySearch. Files are arranged by district, and then by last name.

This collection of probate estate files covers towns alphabetically from Andover through New Haven only. Records for other towns were not included in the microfilming.
