Project Name: Community Spotlight

Purpose: Encourage social connection for Westerly residents and information exchange with local organizations and businesses

Grant Funding Amount: $3,000

Key Elements: Different fun activity sponsored by a different partner every month; participants who attend three or more events have a guaranteed seat on a special community tour

Target Audience:  Newcomers and long time residents

Community Support: Manfredi Farms, Save the Bay, Westerly Land Trust, Jonnycake Center, United Theatre, Grey Sail Brewing, Literacy Volunteers, YMCA, Stand Up for Animals

Use of grant funds: Program publicity, staff, program supplies

Why:

  • To connect residents with each other through meaningful activities
