* These policies are examples only; it is the responsibility of the library director and the library board to ensure that all adopted library policies meet all statutory requirements.
A new statutory requirement establishes a Library Program and Display policy. CSL and our policy advisory group recommends 2 separate policies as library programs and library displays are 2 very distinct activities with unique processes.
Library Board Review of Policies
While the statute requires review of policies every 5 years, CSL and our policy advisory group recommends that CT library boards develop a schedule for review of policies every 1-2 years or as needed in response to shifts in social, technological, environmental, economic and political issues at the local, state and national level.
