EXCITE Transformation for Libraries: Cohort 1

Cohort 1 Teams

Congratulations to these six library teams selected to participate in Cohort 1:

  1. Central Connecticut State University, Elihu Burritt Library, New Britain, CT
  2. Charles County Public Library, La Plata, MD
  3. Hall Memorial Library, Ellington CT
  4. Ossining Public Library, Ossining, NY
  5. Springfield City Library, Springfield, MA
  6. State Library of North Carolina, Raleigh, NC

Cohort 1 Program Dates

All dates are in 2018.

In-Person Training in Middletown, CT:
Middletown Library Service Center, 786 South Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457
Attendance is mandatory for all participants.
January 9-11
March 13-15
May 15-17

Tele-Coaching Conference Calls:
Teams will have a choice of two times each day to call in, 60-75 minutes each. Requires full team participation on all six dates.
January 25

April 25
September 25
October 16

Virtual Site Visit:
One-time virtual visit to each library, approx. 60 minutes each, time to be scheduled with each team on either April 12 or April 13. Requires only one team member to participate.

On-site Coaching at home libraries:
One-time in-person visit to each library, approx. three hours each, to be scheduled between July 31 and August 3 or between September 20 and 21. Requires full team participation.

Project implementation at home libraries:
May - November

Final reports due December 28.

Travel Information

Each team will be eligible for a grant of $2000 to help cover travel and personnel expenses. This grant will be disbursed after the first training session.

The pdf above contains options for lodging and travel to the area. If needed, the CT State Library will provide shuttle service between your lodging and the Middletown Library Service Center (MLSC) at 786 South Main St., Middletown, CT.

Please note that you should plan on being at MLSC from 8:00-5:00 on the training days. Allow travel time for this schedule.
