Legal Literacy: Legal Information

We maintain and provide access to a comprehensive collection of state and federal legal publications. Law & Legislative Reference Services also serves as the permanent home of Connecticut General Assembly official transcripts and legislative bill files. Our reference staff assists members of the public, students, state employees, attorneys, and others in their legal and legislative research. We provide reference services in-person, over the phone, and via chat or email.

The Connecticut Judicial Branch law librarians are dedicated to providing access to quality legal resources and assistance, not only to the legal community, but also to the general public. The purpose of this web page is to acquaint you with some of the services offered by Judicial Law Libraries so that together we can better serve our community.

Court Service Centers are located within Judicial District Courthouses, and are staffed by Judicial Branch employees trained to assist all court patrons. Resources include calendar and docket info, public computers, copier, scanner, fax, phones, notary services, and much more.

Public information desks are located in courthouse lobbies and are designed to provide court-related information to the public at State courthouses.
